Diving Center Blue In

The Blue In Dive & Water Sports Center was inaugurated in 1997 on the Hembadhu island and part of the actual Vivanta by Taj Coral Reef Resort a 5 star hotel of the famous "Taj hotels & resort"chain.
In the past years we have had the pleasure to instruct and enthrall thousands of scuba divers that have appreciated the high quality of our services and of our Instructors, as well as the beauties of this marvelous atoll both above and under this magic ocean.

The Dive Centre is situated a few meters from the swimming pool and the diving entrance . It is member of the PADI International Resort Association and qualified as a 5 Star Gold Palm Resort.
On a daily basis our team of instructors organizes different sessions of scuba diving courses from beginner levels to the more advanced ones . These lessons are held in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese, according to the standards and the international procedures of PADI and in compliance with the local laws.

It will be our pleasure to assist you for your first experience to breathe under water or to take you to the various magnificent dive sites.
On the coral barrier of the island a few meters from the jetty, you will find between 15 and 22 meters the well known wreck of Hembadhu , a tug boat sunk in 1988 and now covered with sponges and corals and inhabited by a wide range of sea life and often visited also by the famous stingrays of Hembadhu.

To dive on the house reef which is 50 meters away from the beach, is possible at any time of the day, but is also suitable for an exciting night dive on the wreck. Ideal for the underwater photograph enthusiasts, in particular for the macro fans .

Every morning at 09:00 and every afternoon at 14:15 departs the diving dhoni to bring you to one of various dives sites at close range to the Vivanta by Taj Coral Reef Resort. The duration of the various trips ranges from 10 minutes to a maximum of one hour.

Our diving dhoni can comfortably suit 20 scuba divers. It has 3 people crew that will be pleased to help you get suited up. They will follow your bubbles during the dive, offer you a warm tea at the end of the dive, as well as bring your cylinder and diving bags from the center to the boat and vice versa. On board there is also a toilet.

Night dives are conducted from the house reef to the wreck that is even more spectacular at night than during the day. It often inhabits a big Napoleon that loves to sleep in the pilot house. You will see the coral colonies that populate the reef from a different perspective. Fishes like the squirrel-fish and the cardinal-fish are staying in flocks. You find them in caves during day time. At dawn they start to wander off into the open water. Others like the surgeon-fish, the butterfly-fish and the parrot-fish stop all activities and rest on the bottom or in the middle of corals.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT TO SEE

From the end of December until the beginning of May encounters with the great mantas rays , the white-tip reef shark , grey reef shark, turtles are rather guaranteed.

From May to November the pelagic species, like the sharks, the eagle rays, the napoleons and the turtles are never a miss.

The nearby dive site called Madivaru Beru & Madigaa give shelter to a big flock of eagle rays. It is an usual show together with white-tip reef sharks, stingrays and turtles . The most experienced eyes will also find leaf fishes and blue ribbon morays. They are excellent and easy dives.

Boduhithi Thila is the home for great napoleons, Kuda Faru a nursery for sharks and Rasfari a paradise for predators. These are a few of the dive sites you can visit during your stay at the Vivannta by Taj Coral Reef Resort.

The number of fishes and their variety is immense and there is always something exciting to discover. The Maldives will always surprise you.

EQUIPMENT

The Center is completely equipped and suited for every underwater demand with jackets, Scubapro regulators, masks, fins and wet suits.
There are also available underwater torches for night dives. The cylinders are with DIN/INT valves and the BAUER compressors to fill the cylinders are daily checked by our staff.

SAFETY

Strictly safety measures are observed during all of our activities. We operate according to the international safety standards as well as the local Maldivian law. We carry out check dives in order to establish buoyancy control, and we persuade scuba divers to carry a surface balloon. The center and the diving boats are are equipped with First Aid and Oxygen kits .

Before your arrival:
remember to bring your Dive License to prove your experience and your logbook to record your dives. If you never tried to dive before book the Discover Scuba Dive to disclose your eyes to the underwater world.
If you have 4/5 days holiday reserve the Open Water Course you can study the theory before coming at home and then coming straight to dive with us, enquire us about that!

If you already have the Open Water License with few additional exciting dives you can improve your experience with the Advanced Open Water Course.

If you are not a diver or if you want just a snorkeling experience appoint for the Snorkel Trip to the Blue Lagoon, a new island formation still without vegetation where the only inhabitants are white birds…with a stunning coral reef… easy and beautiful!!!
